Jim Jones & Mariam Funke
Jim Jones has won three Western Heritage Wrangler Awards, the 2019 International Western Music AssociationSong of the Year, and Western Writers of America 2013, 2017 and 2021 Spur Awards for Best Western Song, along with a slew of other awards for both his music and books. He was the Western Music Association’s 2014 Male Performer of the Year and the trio of which he was a part, The Cowboy Way, received the IWMA’s Group of the Year Award six times. His Western novels include the Jared Delaney series, the Tommy Stallings series and the Bolo the Brave children’s series. He lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Mariam Funke, a native of Germany, jokingly states: “I always felt I was accidentally switched at birth and grew up in a strange land far, far away, where there were no roaming cattle, no wide open spaces, no singing cowboys.” When his travels brought him to New Mexico, he felt he’d finally returned to his true home land. Realizing how much he loved horseback ridin’, backporch pickin’ and two-steppin’ on Saturday nights, he quickly caught on to the cowboy way. Currently calling Santa Fe, New Mexico home, Mariam is a private music teacher, record producer/engineer and collaborator on numerous musical projects with Jim Jones as well as the Cowboy Way.
